When I was creating my music growth plan, I did not realize how many chords I would need to memorize. I made the decision that what would be best for me is to learn the chords that would be needed in the songs I have chosen to learn in the next term. After doing this, I would learn more chords in the next term while learning the two songs. This is because I will already know the chords needed for my songs and will be practicing them through when I learn the songs. While doing this I can explore different chords that could be used in some other songs I will learn after the class assignment. To help learn the chords, I created flashcards for the chords found in the two songs that I will be learning how to play in the next term. I then used the flash cards to go one by one and practice holding the chords on the ukulele. After doing this, I grouped the chords into small groups and started memorizing them. After memorizing the first pair, I then added another pair into the mix. Once I memorized the four chords, I added more chords into the group. I did this until I ended up memorizing all of the chords. As soon as I memorized all of the chords, I made sure to review them when practicing the ukulele. I went through the chords either before or after practicing strumming patterns on the ukulele. Doing this reinforces the information that I taught myself, so I would not forget the chords.
Bellow are the que cards I made to learnd the chords needed for my two songs I will be learning next term.
